Cypress Creek Renewables has inked a power purchase agreement with a non-utility company for the output of the 105 MW Cardinal Solar Farm in Pender County, N.C.

Pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk is the offtaker under the 10-year PPA.

Construction began on the solar array in March and the $70 million project is expected to become operational in the first quarter of next year.

Novo Nordisk says the facility will provide electricity for all of its U.S. offices, laboratories and manufacturing facilities as well as support a manufacturing facility it is building in Clayton, N.C.
