Avangrid has secured a second power purchase agreement for a wind project it is developing in South Dakota.

Dairyland Power Cooperative has spoken for 52 MW from the developer's 154.8 MW Tatanka Ridge wind project in Deuel County for 10 years under the terms of the contract.

None of Dairyland's member cooperatives serve territory in South Dakota. Some serve counties at the far eastern end of Minnesota and others are located across another state line in Wisconsin and Iowa.

Avangrid secured its first PPA for the project in 2017, when Google signed up for 98 MW (PFR, 11/30/17). Commercial operations are expected to begin by the end of 2020.
