Despite a bankruptcy court ruling appearing to bolster Pacific Gas & Electric's chances of rejecting pricey power purchase agreements, the final impact of the utility's restructuring is far from settled. In the meantime, project finance and M&A activity for PG&E-related assets could be frozen for years and projects due to be refinanced may have to be restructured instead, say deal watchers.
