Claus Hertel has joined Rabobank as managing director in the Americas project finance team, based in New York.

He started on Aug. 19 and reports Greg Hutton, head of project finance Americas.

"Claus joins our deep roster of relationship bankers at Rabobank," says Hutton. "He is very well known in the industry and has broad expertise in the project finance sector, especially in energy storage, which is an emerging focus for us and the industry."

Prior to joining Rabobank, Hertel was managing director at battery owner-operator SGEM Group, which had been working on the 20 MW / 10 MWh Marengo storage project in Illinois.

Hertel has previously held roles at Energy Impact Partners, Investec, Goldwind USA, WestLB and Santander
