Iberdrola subsidiary Avangrid Renewables has chosen Boston-based Alejandro de Hoz to replace Laura Beane as CEO and president after she decided to leave the company.

Beane had been with the company for 25 years, the last three as chief executive. The reason for her departure was not disclosed.

The new CEO, De Hoz, has been promoted from vice president of offshore wind deals, where he spent the last two years of his career. He joined the company from its parent Iberdrola, where he served as offshore business performance director preparing the company’s offshore wind pipeline for auctions in Germany and the U.K.

Before that, De Hoz worked on onshore wind, developing projects in France, Mexico and Brazil.
