Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has acquired a two-phase, development-stage wind project located within PJM Interconnection.

Tri Global Energy announced the sale of the up-to-800 MW Woodford facility in central Illinois on Dec. 17, marking the Texas developer’s first project in the state. Law firm Watson Farley & Williams advised CIP on the acquisition.

Tri Global had applied for two phases of interconnection—each for up to 400 MW of capacity. Woodford does not have an offtake agreement.

Great Bay Renewables, a subsidiary of Altius Minerals Corp., is providing royalty financing to support Tri Global as it proceeds with development work through to the start of construction in January 2021 (PFR, 2/12).

CIP has bought two Tri Global wind projects in Texas the past—the 366 MW Bearkat unit in Glasscock County and the 150 MW Blue Cloud asset in Bailey and Lamb counties (PFR, 7/13/16).
