Enel has signed a massive power purchase agreement to supply data centers across Latin America.
The energy company will sell 1.6GW of renewable output to Scala Data Centers, a company founded by Florida-based DigitalBridge, the digital infrastructure investment platform of Colony Capital.
Scala will use 600MW of renewable power to supply its flagship hyperscale data center (one of the largest in the world, according to the company): the Tamboré campus, located in São Paulo.
The remaining 1GW of renewable output will be dispatched to centers the company is developing across Latin America, including in cities like Fortaleza, Santiago, Lima and Bogota.
Across Latin America, Enel operates close to 16GW of installed renewable capacity. The energy company recently signed offtake agreements in Colombia with brewery company Bavaria (PFR, 8/25) and Itaú Unibanco in Brazil (PFR, 8/18).
