* Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO) will mothball plans to construct new power plants for the next three to five years, as demand for electric power remains sluggish. TEPCO plans to freeze the construction of 27 projects, including four nuclear power plants (Dow Jones, 2/9).

* Edison International will sell one of its unregulated subsidiaries, Edison Utility Services, which designs, builds and operates power and broadband communication systems to SRM-ENCO for an undisclosed amount (Reuters, 2/12).

* Enarsa, an Argentine company jointly owned by Endesa and Elecnor, intends to invest $2.2 billion over the next nine years in new wind-power projects across Argentina (La Nacion, 2/7).
