The finance lead of a team that is developing a combined-cycle gas-fired project in Virginia has taken a full-time position outside of the power sector.

Kevin McNamara has scaled back his responsibilities leading Balico’s capital raise for the new-build 1,650 MW Chickahominy facility (PFR, 8/13).

The Cogentrix alumnus had been advising the developer on the financing and insurance for the large-scale plant for much of last year.

But this month, he joined food service contractor Elior North America as treasurer and will only advise the Chickahominy team on evenings and weekends.

Jef Freeman, the Charlotte, N.C.-based lead developer of the Chickahominy project, declined to comment.

Prior to McNamara's nearly eight-year spell with Cogentrix in the 2010s, he had worked at Marubeni TAQA Caribbean and Mirant Corp., both as director finance.
