  • * Enel of Italy is interested in purchasing Southern Water of the U.K. This would be the utility's first expansion in Europe.   • * Leftist rebels have attacked the newly constructed $505 million 392 MW Porce II hydroelectric plant in northern Colombia, says the government. Colombia's president, Andres Pastrana, said he plans to create a 1,500 strong battalion to protect the country's power infrastructure from guerrilla sabotage (Dow Jones, 4/10).
